IT IS SWEDISH PERFECT, 2009
Back cover blurb:
'Is it possible to measure how much we change? Is it possible to sit comfortably on the fence between fashion and art?
A phone call from Belgrade marks the beginning of yet another project for the artist Ulrika Gunnarsdotter. She decides to invite the Serbian costume designer Magdalena Klasnja to Stockholm; together they will make new folk costumes for three Swedish people with roots in the former Yugoslavia. Is this asking too much of her guest who had hoped for a relaxing holiday? And who will be the models?
The project was conceived in cooperation with the photographer Jenny Källman and the graphic designers Friendly Matters. The outcome? A paperback that gives us some insight into a process that is far from perfect.'
The book was also featured in the exhibition and fashion walk Stockholms modevandring, Fashionplay #6 2009. Published by Labyrint Press, with Johanna Lewengard.
